émoussans is a complete and fully usable font with more than 300 characters custom sans serif typeface developed as part of a university type design project. Its name is a portmanteau of the French words "émoussé" and sans. émoussé can be translated as “blunted,” “muted,” or “dulled,” ("stumpf" in german) while sans refers to a serif-free typeface. together, the name captures the concept behind the font: a sans serif with a quieter, softened presence. supervised by prof. jürgen huber.
